Hello, again!

This ensemble features a one piece denim-looking suit which I belted.
I paired it with an over-sized white cardigan with gold buttons and a pearl
necklace. I chose to wear my hair in a side braid with a lacy bow at the top and
my bangs to the side. The colour palette is gold, white, navy blue, and brown.

This is a larger view of the cardigan. I rolled up the sleeves to give it a more relaxed feel.
I think that when the sleeves were unrolled it gave it an office-lady look. One could keep the
sleeves down and avoid the OL look by wearing a bracelet over one or both sleeves.

This is a top-view of the outfit without the cardigan. I chose to wear mules
this day. Note how the mules pull the colour brown from the belt.
Here is the same outfit with the cardigan.

Hair

I have been struggling with what to do with my hair for quite a long time now.
I think I have finally figure out what!

I have become drawn to long wavy hair. My hair-length has gotten long enough that
when I let it dry naturally it gets a little wavy, and when I go to sleep with it in pigtails
it get really really wavy. So this is perfect!

I also think that the girly-ness of it really matches well with my style.

This is the kind of length that I am aiming for:
The model on the far right is the one who I'd like to copy. I think, though, that I
would like my hair to be a bit longer. Perhaps to my elbows.

This picture is from the February 2010 issue of Mina magazine.

Jya~!

Hai hai!

So, as promised, here is the second outfit. This one takes the same blouse
and matches it with a different colour palette.

The colour palette I was working with this day was dark red, brown,
white, grey and gold.

Here is a layout of the outfit. I paired the same blouse as was featured in
my last post with a white turtleneck sweater, a short gold necklace, brown
trousers, and gray high-heels. I also wore a hair-tie with a green bow on my wrist.

This is a close-up on the trousers. You can see how soft of a brown the trousers
are. This is important because later I added a dark scarf. the whole outfit, without
the scarf, is really light and I definitely did not want to disturb this with my choice
of the bottom portion. Also note that the trousers are somewhat tight-fitting
as is the turtleneck. The tightness of the turtleneck and the trousers creates
a silhouette that starts at the top with the arms, is broken by the blouse, and then
is continued with the trousers.

The scarf is worn long; just draped around the neck and let hang down.

The turtleneck is tight-fitting so as to make a comparison with the loose
blouse.

The necklace that I chose that day was another short one. Mostly I did this
because I had recently bought that necklace and was itching to wear it...;;
However! It also bring the focus of the top section of the ensemble to the
neck area. Since I was wearing my hair down and had a turtleneck sweater
on, the tendency would be for my neck to seem shorter and sort of
get lost between my scarf. The shortness of the necklace pulls the eye
in on that area and emphasizes two things: 1. that I do indeed have a neck, and
2. the beautiful contrast of the bright gold and the soft, dark red.
Here is the outfit with the scarf.

These are the shoes that I chose to wear with this outfit. :)

Oh my gosh! Cho Hisashiburi!

Gomen~~!
I have been busy, but-- mostly I have been really lazy. = ^ =;;
BUT! I am uploading three different outfits for you today. o U o

Here is the first.

Lately I went through a sort of radical change with my fashion. I did a
outline of what I wanted it to consist of and got rid of everything that
did not fit into it.
As a result I have found that my favorite color combinations is gold,
gray, white, and brown. The grays and browns must be on the softer
side. I have found so many ways that this colour palette goes
well together. I find that when I walk past a shop, I'm looking for
things which have these colours or would compliment them.

During my last visit to Buffalo Exchange I picked up two pretty helpful
pieces. The first is a blouse-type-shirt with cuffed, elbow-length sleeves,
and a lacy design on the front. Here is a photo of the top. I apologize for
my sleepy look.;;
So, here is the shirt. The gray and stark white really look lovely with this particular
pattern of lace. The buttons also add quite a bit of charm to it.

Here is a close up to show my (messy) hair style choice that day. I have been really
into wavy hair. I think it fits my style well and it just sort of happens when I sleep
so it's also low-maintenance for me. The other piece of clothing I bought at Buffalo
was this great dark brown vest. I know, I just said that I am looking for
"softer" shades, but this also really works. The brown in this makes it possible
to pair it with many more things than, say, a black vest would. The same can be
said for a lighter coloured vest. The brown, though it is dark, makes it possible to
wear it with other brown items (as long as they aren't what is directly underneath
the vest), such as pants/skirts, tights, and shoes. This makes a sort of symmetry
within the frame of the outfit without really drawing attention to the fact that I am
pairing two similar-coloured items together.
Here is the full outfit. I'm sorry it's sort a askew. The vest here looks really
close to black in comparison especially with the really light brown boots.
This is good, because it also compliments the purple/brown tights and thus
pulls the gaze through the whole ensemble.

I accessorized this look with a gold necklace and a blue pin. I think one could have used a longer
necklace, but the shortness of it , I felt, kept a kind of tidiness within the outfit.
As far as other kinds of jewelry, I cannot see this with anything but gold. (Perhaps
that is because I love gold so much....) Silver on this outfit would be too much because
of the grays. Perhaps pearls would be another possible choice. I use caution with
anything like coloured beads because it can make some outfits look cheap.

As you can see, I chose to wear gray shorts with this. It has the possibility to be
overdone with the gray. That day, though I was carrying my backpack which is
black, so it was more evened out than it may look like on its own.

More tomorrow!

Hisashiburi, ne?

Hallo, there! It's been quite a while since I have updated!
I've been on fuyu-yasumi from college and have been relaxing.
It's sort of funny how I have had so much time and yet when I was
doing schoolwork I found more time to update my blog. Perhaps
not funny-ha-ha, but definitely funny-something. ^ u ^;;;

I'm uploading a look that I did about a month and a half ago.
I think I will upload another look later today, since I have bought
a lot of new clothes this break. : )

So here is the top part of one of my favourite dresses. It is white (on the top) and grey (on the bottom). The top portion has great lace and gives it a vintage sort of feel, though I know that it is a recently manufactured piece. The fabric used for this part of the dress is a wonderful light cotton.

And here is the bottom half of the dress. I love this shade of grey with the soft whiteness. Here, also, is the upper half of my mile-long scarf. It isn't really my style of scarf, but the length is wonderful.
Here is the lower half of the scarf and my lovely boots. Have I explained the material of my red boots yet? They are super thin. Like almost latex-glove-thin. I realized this more as the weather got colder and my my feet became more sensitive to going outside. I also have to be careful how much I wear them. Thank goodness they were cheap! Next investment: decent cowboy boots.

That's all for now. I will post my current outfit when my camera bettery is done charging.

Ciao~!

おはよう~~~!
So, here is my outfit (minus the tights) that I am going to wear today.

It's a gray floppy turtleneck dress with a plaid shirt/jacket combination thing and a vest over it. I'm wearing gold and pearl necklaces and green kitten-heels.

The tights I will wear will most likely be white since I wore brown yesterday. :)

It's a little short for winter but then, as long as I am warm it's okay.

The next picture is just a close-up of my jewelry. Pretty simple today. I stayed up all night so I am just throwing stuff on to make it through classes and then get home and sleeeeeep. But I find that especially on days where I am emotionally/physically vulnerable, wearing what makes me comfortable is really important. So here I am. It's six forty-two and I am layering dresses... XD

The next picture here is (supposed) to show the layering effect that I tried to do. :)

Finally, I will say adieu, since it's time for me to go take a shower and wake up... at least a little bit before my Japanese class at eight. PHEW!Ohayou gozaimasu! <3
I really enjoy doing these. This post is for Kiwi, since she reminded me that I have this blog. ^u^;;;
Have a great day, everyone!

Second Look

これ、ルーク二番 :)
So here is one of my favourite colour combinations: soft pink, white, gold, and grey.

I am wearing a knit pink jacket over a frilly blouse. The gold colour mentioned above comes from my gold chain and my gold earrings.
I'm wearing grey shorts and my awesome red boots that I bought at Buffalo Exchange. Oh, yes and I would like to introduce my dorm room's messy floor. = U =;;;||

I have two other looks to upload but I need to get to some homework before I go out this evening!

Will post more soon!
